Have you had a DOT or DISA drug and alcohol violation? Tested positive on a DOT or DISA test? Refused to take a DOT or DISA test? At SAP Evaluations, LLC, we understand the importance of your career and are committed to helping you return to work safely and efficiently.
SSAP Evaluations, LLC works with qualified Substance Abuse Professionals (SAP) across the United States.
If you hold a safety-sensitive DOT position and have tested positive or refused a DOT test, you must complete the Return-to-Duty (RTD) process.
Start with a comprehensive, face-to-face clinical SAP evaluation by one of our DOT-qualified Substance Abuse Professionals (SAP).
Failing or refusing to take a DOT test while working in a safety-sensitive position can lead to serious consequences, as mandated by the United States Department of Transportation (DOT). If you fail a DOT test, you must be removed from your safety-sensitive role. However, there is a pathway to return to duty through an evaluation by a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) and completing all required education or treatment.
SAP Evaluation, LLC connects you with qualified Substance Abuse Professionals (SAPs) and Substance Abuse Experts (SAEs) across the United States.
Our nationwide network ensures access to SAPs in all 50 states, offering in-person and remote evaluations for your convenience, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you are an employer needing to provide a list of qualified DOT SAPs to employees following a failed or refused DOT test, or if you are an employee in this situation, we are here to assist.
SAP Evaluations, LLC is your resource for navigating the DOT return-to-duty process.
Once an employee with a verified DOT drug and alcohol violation is prohibited from performing safety-sensitive functions, they must find a DOT-qualified Substance Abuse Professional.
If the employee is a driver (CDL or CLP) under the FMCSA, they must log into their Clearinghouse account and send a request to the SAP they would like to work with.
Once an employee contacts a DOT-qualified SAP, they can start the return-to-duty process. The SAP will guide them through the process.
If the employee is a driver (CDL or CLP) under the FMCSA, the SAP must accept their request in the Clearinghouse before starting the process.
The next step requires employees to meet with their SAP for a face-to-face clinical SAP evaluation. This one-on-one conversation helps the SAP understand how the violation occurred.
The SAP will meet with the employee for a follow-up SAP evaluation once the employee has actively participated in the required education and/or treatment program.
Once the SAP determines that the employee has successfully complied with the required education and/or treatment, they will be eligible for a return-to-duty drug test.
The employee must have a negative drug test result and/or an alcohol test with an alcohol concentration of less than 0.02 before resuming the performance of safety-sensitive duties.
Once the employee resumes performing safety-sensitive functions, their employer will subject them to unannounced drug and alcohol tests to ensure ongoing compliance with DOT drug and alcohol regulations.
I honestly didn’t believe I would be able to drive again until I found this program. Staff explained everything and detailed every RTD step before I signed up. I was skeptical about it but I decided to move forward with the program. I completed my assessment the same day and the next day , I started my treatment and 10 days later, I got my return to duty letter. Now I’m able to take care of my family again thanks to Jacques and his staff. Thank you for all you do.
