Our specialized Intensive Outpatient Program provides structured treatment while allowing you to continue with work, school, and family responsibilities.
Quick video on what A Better Life can do for you!
A structured, evidence-based treatment for individuals facing substance use challenges, mental health concerns, and/or emotional regulation issues.
While the specifics of each intensive outpatient program (IOP) differ, our IOP provides a highly structured treatment program that addresses substance use disorder issues and relapse prevention for individuals who do not require medical detoxification or 24-hour supervision.
Individuals participating in our IOP are able to maintain responsibilities at home, school, or work since they can return home or to a sober living environment at the end of each day.
Our IOP offers the same therapeutic approaches as other levels of care—such as individual and group counseling, behavioral therapies, psychoeducation, case management, and Family support—while allowing you to maintain your daily life.
Hours per week of structured therapeutic programming
Continue living at home or in a sober living environment while receiving treatment
Keep your job and career momentum while getting the help you need
Stay connected with loved ones throughout your recovery journey
Apply new coping skills in real-life situations with immediate guidance
According to the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), treatment follows these levels:
Level | Treatment Type | Description |
---|---|---|
Level 0.5 | Prevention/Early Intervention | Education and risk assessment for those at risk |
Level 1 | Outpatient Programs | Less than 9 hours weekly for adults; flexible scheduling |
Level 2 | Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) & Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs) | 9+ hours weekly (IOP) or 20+ hours weekly (PHP) |
Level 3 | Residential/Inpatient Programs | 24-hour care in a structured environment |
Level 4 | Intensive Inpatient Programs | 24-hour medical care and monitoring for complex cases |
